SUMMARY: Lawrence Tech is searching for a Graduate Assistant (GA) for Men’s Ice Hockey. This individual will assist in the operations of the hockey program at Lawrence Tech. Lawrence Tech is a members in the ACHA, WHAC and MCHC in hockey. The Graduate Assistant (GA) position can accommodate experienced hockey applicants as well as low/no hockey experience applicants The Graduate Assistant (GA) will report directly to the Head Hockey Coach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Student-Athlete Support: To foster, mold, guide, lead, and direct student-athletes towards a quality educational experience in order to obtain the ultimate goal of a degree. Supporting academic and student needs with the many campus resources.
•Team Instruction (Practices/Game Day): To assist in the continued development and growth of our successful collegiate men’s ice hockey program. Involvement in practice and game execution, coordination and oversight, film/video, scouting, stats program, league awards and more.
•Recruiting: Involvement with both in and out of state recruiting, on and off campus recruit visits, working with our database of prospects and maintain records of contacts to remain in compliance with NAIA, ACHA and University regulations.
•Administrative Responsibilities: Organize and coordinate of a wide variety of administrative tasks as assigned by the Head Coach, which include, but not limited to, player management, league requirements, game coordination, lodging, transportation, meals, public relations, and other daily operations for the program.

The Graduate Assistant (GA) position can accommodate experienced hockey applicants as well as low/no hockey experience applicants by customizing to applicants experience. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A candidate must possess a strong work ethic, organizational skills and the ability to interact professionally with both players and university administration. Since this is a Graduate Assistant position, all candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and be accepted into the Lawrence Tech (LTU) graduate school. LTU has rolling admissions and can process and admit students right up until school begins in late August.
