Position Summary: The Head Strength Coach will be under the direct supervision of the Vice President for Student Life and Athletics. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
•Responsible for developing strength programs for each of our 22 athletic programs. •Will work directly with designated teams throughout the year. •For the teams that he/she does not work directly with, will be responsible for training the assigned facilitator (assistant coach/ Head Coach) on the program highlighting proper form for all lifts, safety, spotters, and bails on failed lifts. •Must have the ability to develop sport specific programs including position specific programs for some sports. •Will work directly with the Director of Sports Medicine regarding injured players to develop modified lifting regimen during the recovery period. •Will develop in season and off season strength programs as listed above. •Will develop summer workouts for returning and incoming student-athletes. •The office for this position will be located within the Student Wellness Center in the weight room.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s required, Master’s preferred. CSCS Certification Required. Previous Experience working with Collegiate Student-Athletes preferred. Must be CPR and AED certified.
