Program Oversight - 55%

Direct operational responsibility for academic support of student-athletes. This includes but is not limited to assigning responsibilities and caseloads for the Academic Services staff, planning and conducting weekly staff meetings, hiring/training and on-boarding new professional staff, contributing to the review and evaluation of staff, participation in faculty outreach, evaluating and implementing policies related to the operation of the unit.

Advising and Athlete Support - 30%

Provide personal advising regarding academic requirements for degree progress to assigned student-athletes. 10% Responsible for NCAA eligibility monitoring of student-athletes in advised sports. Must have knowledge of APR (academic progress rate) and GSR (graduation success rate) implementation. 10% Lead development of programs aimed to improve retention and graduation rates of student-athletes. 5% Participate in ongoing evaluations regarding the effectiveness of special advising outreach to student-athletes. 5% Outreach and Relationship Building - 10%

Collaborate with the Gateway advising center on academic issues and requirements as dictated by the NCAA and Big Sky Conference. 5%

Serve on university committees and integrate with the NAU academic community. 5%

Other duties as assigned - 5%

Minimum Qualifications:

• Undergraduate bachelor’s degree AND
• 2-4 years of management or supervisory experience;AND
• 3-5 years of relevant experience OR
• Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree.
• Related supervisory work experience.
• Multicultural experience and/or background which would add cultural richness and ethnic diversity to the workplace.
• Experience with educationally underprepared students OR experience with college students who have significant challenges related to learning disabilities.
