Job Description This position provides oversight of all external operations for the Tennessee State University- Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. This individual will report to the Director of Athletics and will be responsible for the strategic direction, oversight, coordination, leadership and active participation in the revenue generation and external functions, while serving as a member of the Director of Athletics' executive leadership team.
Responsibilities • Providing leadership for: revenue generation units; athletics fundraising, engagement and stewardship, ticket operations, corporate partnerships, athletic media relations/communications; marketing; promotions; merchandise sales; brand management; licensing; creative services; video production units and special events. • Develop and execute a strategic marketing/fundraising and business plan, engage stakeholders to identify and prioritize marketing/fundraising initiatives that achieve the department's revenue goals. • Determine appropriate budget allocations of chosen initiatives. • Oversees the Department's strategic communications efforts, including public relations, athletic communications, social media and the athletics website. • A proactive approach to identify opportunities to create and put into action content/projects/stories that will positively influence and generate increased support and involvement in Tennessee State Athletics. • Leverage social media and communication strategies to drive ticket sales and brand awareness. • Direct and supervise staff to plan, create, execute and be responsible for promotional activities, in-game assets, video board content/operations and the general in-game environment. • Foster increased fan engagement/interaction resulting in an enhanced in-game experience. • Supervise Ticket Operations to ensure proper reporting and accounting of revenue, elite customer service, and effective communication • Cultivate a sales culture that maximizes generating revenue in an atmosphere of accountability, competitiveness and excellence • Develop sales strategies, systems, and processes to consistently retain season ticket members, identify creative new revenue streams, and produce additional revenue • Develop and implement systems that provide real-time data to drive revenue generating decisions, marketing automation, and provide support to sales. • Responsible for constructing, implementing, and executing strategic campaigns designed to drive revenue centered around ticket sales and new donor cultivation. • Exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to NCAA, Ohio Valley • Conference, University, and Department of Intercollegiate Athletics' Code of Ethics. • Contributing to the maintenance of sound working relationships with all members of the Department. • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience Master's preferred • 7+ years related experience in intercollegiate athletic administration, or a related field is also required. • The ability to manage several tasks and/or projects simultaneously. • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to customer service will accompany a proven track record in building quality relationships, leading capital campaigns, closing major gifts, sales and corporate sponsorships. • Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation and have a proven record of compatibility with a diverse range of constituents and stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with Ticketmaster and Adobe Creative Suite
