Salary Details:
The salary and benefits are dependent on the type of work agreement decided between the chosen candidate and Club based on the candidate’s qualifications and responsibilities. Full-time employee benefits include PTO, employer-sponsored
medical, dental, and vision plans, 403b retirement plan with employer match, cell phone reimbursement, life insurance, and supplemental benefits. The Club will pay a portion of the medical benefit premiums.
Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club (CRYSC) is a community soccer club, serving five regions in the state of Colorado spanning from Fort Collins to Castle Rock, which provides opportunities for all levels of players from beginner to advanced, from three to professional. CRYSC is one of the only true full-service soccer clubs in the nation providing soccer for all types of players from all different types of backgrounds. This position is based in the Elite Program and seeks to add a layer of value and expertise in the field of athlete performance analysis.
The main focus is to lead the provision of performance analysis services within CRYSC Elite Teams. This will involve working with the technical team, and servicing all their needs around soccer analysis. This will encompass aspects such as pre-match opposition & post-match analysis, training & individual player analysis, player scouting & recruitment, management of analysis staff & service provider relations (ie. HUDL, VEO, etc.)
MAJOR OBJECTIVES:
- Create - Develop and Deliver an analysis process that provides Elite program coaches and players with an additional resource revolving around utilizing video and post-performance evaluations that allow for increased development.
- Communication - Develop and maintain consistent communication processes based on expectations outlined by the Elite Directors with all Elite players, and staff coaches establishing relationships and trust at all levels of the game;
- Apply the Rapids Way - Provide a resource that measures the progress of performance related to the Elite Program’s technical PDP;
- Teach - Facilitate a positive, learner-centered environment focused on the holistic long-term development of each individual player;
- Practice & Games - Provide feedback where guided by Elite Directors to prepare and source imagery and video supporting team/player performance in games primarily, and practice where required.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
The role would focus on leading the analysis support provided for CRYSC Elite Teams including but not limited to ECNL 13U-19, Rapids Elite 11U-12U, Elite Development Squads (EDS) 11U-19U, and Rapids Futsal. A successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills in order to utilize all resources to their full extent. This would involve working closely with the technical team to service their key analysis & scouting needs. This may include but not be restricted to; Pre & post-match opposition analysis/review, training & individual technical analysis, ad-hoc research projects/data trend analysis, live match-day analysis, player scouting & recruitment, analysis staff management and extensive team / individual video databasing.
ANALYSIS:
- Lead in the profiling of opposition teams in key events and ECNL age groups, providing content and support based on the distribution of material to our ECNL players and assisting in the creation of supporting video.
- Lead in the storage, maintenance & application of all relevant equipment along with recollection of video databases and drive feedback to coaches/players around game performance with the goal of furthering our understanding of performance.
- Have a good understanding of how to use data in the right context to enhance performance on a team and individual level
- Support in the coding of key fixtures, create reports on team performance, drive feedback to coaches/players, and help drive a more reflective and evaluative culture within the Elite Program.
- Deliver, where appropriate, a match-day process for live analysis to provide real-time feedback
- Assist in the management of the capturing of training footage to provide feedback & aid performance, lead in the capture of, coding & data generation of training sessions and assist in the application of training analysis.
- Liaise with internal and external software & data providers regarding performance analysis, ensuring we are continuing to develop the products and use them in the most effective ways.
- Where necessary, coordinate with the relevant medical, physiotherapy, fitness, and soccer staff regarding player performance.
- Liaise with Elite Head Coaches and technical team to both generate and maintain ongoing video and data-driven player scouting and recruitment reports.
- Initiate and carry out ad-hoc research projects for the benefit of team and individual performance
- Continually update knowledge of best practices within soccer analysis and be proactive in the search of new technologies, innovations, and processes to enhance current practice.
SCOUTING:
- Analyze performance statistics of key recruitment players in discussion with technical staff whilst providing reports and recommendations.
- Have a strong understanding of how to use data in the right context improve decision-making in recruitment
- Create, collate and monitor scouting intelligence effectively, using all available resources.
- Work with Elite staff to Identify potential CRYSC Elite Teams talent internally and externally
- Create and present Talent ID videos/clips on request by Head Coaches (where feasibly manageable).
- Deliver training to staff where appropriate that will support the analysis and scouting process without the added workload placed on the role
Must be available to work frequently at CRYSC Elite Teams matches - this may involve domestic travel and potentially out-of-state events.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience of working within elite sports analysis in order to understand the unique nature of youth soccer culture and how best to apply the principles and fulfill the role of a lead soccer analyst.
- Experience of observing and/or being subjected to different soccer and/or sporting environments. This will ensure a solid grounding and rounded view of varying working methodologies, as well as an acute understanding of examples of best practices within soccer analysis.
- Being a relatively new field, understanding how a soccer/performance analyst fits into and can assist the soccer department is essential.
ABILITIES/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of key performance analysis systems and other software packages, such as Hudl & VEO etc…
- Acute understanding of how best to implement the relevant performance analysis approaches within different working environments and with different types of individuals (players, coaches, education etc..).
- Exceptional interpersonal skills that facilitate and allow the effective usage of performance insights.
- Comfortable handling data and understanding how to integrate this into a feedback process with players & coaches.
- A personable and adaptable management style to optimize workplace productivity and promote professional growth.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
- Degree relating to the field of Sports Science, Coaching and Performance and/or Performance Analysis.
- Soccer coaching qualifications are preferable and any specific performance analysis qualifications are also applicable
- Experience of using various analysis systems; Hudl Sportscode Pro/Elite, as well as a good understanding of MS Excel and various video editing software packages (Studio).
- It is essential to have a sufficient mix of academic, soccer, and specific training experience and knowledge to carry out the role.
