Job Description Summary Reporting to Head Softball Coach, the Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach with practices, game management, recruiting efforts, etc.
Responsibilities Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
-Assist with on and off-campus student athlete recruitment/scouting efforts -Assist with conducting drills for each practice session; instruct athletes in ways to strengthen their softball playing/teamwork skills -Attend and/or participate in professional softball clinics and other athletic development seminars -Assist in the development and implementation of campus and clinics -Attend coaching conferences to stay informed about NCAA schedules, rules, eligibility requirements, policies, etc. -Assisting in special projects and/or activities -Providing counseling/support services to student athletes -Serve on university committees and/or task forces as assigned -Provide assistance to Athletic Director in program/departmental planning activities -Other duties as assigned
As an individual employed in a coach capacity, you are subject to the regulations of the NCAA. If at any time it is determined that you are in violation of such regulations, then by the provision of the NCAA enforcement procedures, you may be subject to corrective disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with playing experience at the college level. Ability to communicate effectively within the educational philosophy of Lewis university.
