Missouri Western State University is a public, state-supported institution providing career-oriented certificate, associate, baccalaureate and master’s degree programs. Missouri Western is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and is an AQIP Participant. Missouri Western State University is a member of NCAA Division II and the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA). Missouri Western traditionally achieves athletic success, with teams often nationally ranked. Emphasis is placed on excellence in athletics competition, academic achievement, community service and NCAA rules compliance. Since 2010, Missouri Western has been the three-week summer home of the Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp. Western enjoys excellent athletic facilities, including the 120,000 square foot Griffon Indoor Sports Complex, a new Spring Sports Complex for baseball and softball, and a recently renovated Spratt Stadium featuring one of the largest video scoreboards in Division II.
Missouri Western continues to honor its tradition of open access, serving both traditional and non-traditional students. Founded in 1915..., Missouri Western has grown to an enrollment of more than 5,000 students, served by more than 200 faculty members. A beautifully landscaped campus complements contemporary institutional and recreational facilities. The campus consists of 14 major buildings and a student-housing complex located on 744 acres.
