To advance the mission and values of the OU Athletics Department by overseeing the marketing and fan experience departments efforts with all sports that the OU Athletics Department supports. This position specifically oversees the marketing and fan experience efforts with the football program, all advertising efforts, and the marketing department budget. Additionally, the individual in this position will oversee the individuals in charge of Community Relations and Spirit Program activities. This position will serve as liaison to all departments and administration while guiding the vision and direction of the marketing and game production strategies.
Strategize, develop and implement innovative marketing, promotional, and game production plans to increase ticket sales, Sooner Club membership, game attendance and fan experience elements for Oklahoma Football:
Promotional schedule and marketing/sales plan development
Script writing and in-game music
Party at the Palace Fanfest Area
Working in conjunction with the ticket office and Sooner Club to increase sales
Oversight of band and spirit gameday initiatives
Produce the Red River Rivalry Game every other year
Student and general fan giveaways
Oversight of Public Address Announcer and Live Mic Personality
Work with Sooner Sports Properties to execute all sponsorship elements
All other gameday fan experience related activities o Coordination of marketing collateral
Help the entire marketing staff create a first-class gameday experience for fans through all sports supported by the OU Athletics Department
Through management of all marketing staff members, oversee all game production strategies
Oversight of marketing and community relations staff leading all aspects of the department
Oversee all advertising activities, including cash and trade contracts with local and national media partners
This includes TV, radio, print, billboard, and digital advertising efforts
Work with the business and ticket office to execute all trade contracts
Responsible for advertising execution, collateral, and placement
Athletic Department liaison to the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band
Oversight of the OU Spirit Program
Lead the Director of Spirit Programs in program activities and decisions
Includes COED, Pom, All-Girl, Mascots and the Ruf/Nek Lil’ Sis groups
Direct oversight and main contact for the Sooner Schooner and live mascots
Focus on members serving as ambassadors for the OU brand
High school summer spirit camps
Oversee the Associate Director of Marketing and Community Relations and community engagement efforts
Sooner Jr. Kids Club
Sooner Jr. F.A.N.S. Initiative
Charity and School relationships
Fan development and diversity outreach efforts
Grassroots marketing and ticket sales lead generation efforts
Plan, organize and participate in special events and strategic planning, including but not limited to the list below

Big 12 Championships and Bowl Games
Develop innovative methods to reach new fans while engaging and retaining the existing fan base through ticket sales and Sooner Club membership
Oversight responsibility of the entire marketing department budget
Manage day-to-day contact with SoonerVision, Event Management, Graphics, Digital, Ticketing, Sooner Club, Communications and Sooner Sports Properties
Continue to cultivate on campus relationships to drive student and faculty/staff attendance
Make sure all invoices are turned in and paid
Main contact with the business office for the marketing department regarding budgets and payments
Oversee all hiring processes for open positions within the marketing and spirit programs
Oversee sponsorship fulfillment responsibilities related to Sooner Sports Properties (Learfield-IMG) and other third-party agreements
Ability to drive the OU Marketing Tahoe and 12-foot trailer
Maintain knowledge of the rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and The University of Oklahoma. Know, understand, and reinforce commitment to NCAA and Big 12 rules, and report violations or suspected violations to the Athletics Compliance Department
Perform other related duties as requested
Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, AND:
18-36 months experience in Marketing fields, sports industry, or related field
Successful candidates must have exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; A qualified candidate will have highly developed organizational and management and problem solving skills and must work accurately and efficiently in order to meet a multitude of deadlines and responsibilities. The ability to work well in a team environment is required. Candidates must have commitment to diversity and be comfortable working within diverse populations.

Additional desired qualifications include experience with managing teams and multiple projects.
Customer service experience.
Available to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
Successful completion of NCAA and criminal background checks will be required of the successful applicant.
Drivers license to operate Community Relations vehicle
Advertised Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, engage in repetitive motions including movements of the hands, wrists or fingers, walk, communicate, hear including receiving detailed information orally or making fine discriminations in sound and see, including color, depth perception and clarity.
Master’s degree or above.
More than 3-5 years’ experience in athletics, marketing, community relations or another related field.
Marketing background in a division 1 athletics department with experience in game production, ticket sales campaigns and fan experience improvement effort.
Has qualified experience of overseeing the direction of a marketing department and management of its staff
Has demonstrated successful work in a team atmosphere, high stress environments and willing to work nights and weekends on a regular basis
Knowledge and experience in athletics game production
