The College of New Jersey, a member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and NCAA DIII, seeks applications for the position of Sports Information Graduate Assistant to begin Spring 2022.
This position reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications and will serve as primary contact for assigned teams in addition to larger department-wide projects. The position assists with compiling/keeping statistical of multiple teams, writing pre-game, postgame and feature stories, managing student-workers assigned to sports information duties at events, maintain strong working relationships with coaches and staff in the Athletic Department.
3.0 GPA minimum required for Graduate Admissions
A desire to work in the athletics communications field
A basic understanding of a variety of sports and the ability and willingness to learn new sports
Ability to work nights and weekends as required based on game coverage
Ability to multi-task and work well in high-pressure environments at sporting events
Knowledge & understanding of social media platforms and trends
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Prior experience working in an athletics communication office
Basic understanding of statistics software including NCAA Live Stats and StatCrew
An understanding of video editing, livestreaming technology, photography and/or graphic design.
