Reinhardt University is seeking a Sports Information Director to add to our staff at the main campus in Waleska, GA.
The Sports Information Director is a member of the Reinhardt University Athletic Department. The Director is responsible for maintaining positive public relations for the Athletic Department and providing timely sports information to the public concerning all activities of the athletic program. The SID will also perform related work as required by the Director of Athletics.
Duties and responsibilities: •Accumulate and report required conference and district statistics. •Write and make available public interest stories in relation to athletics at Reinhardt University on a regular basis. This responsibility will include the periodic distribution of information to the hometown communities of those young people involved in our athletic program. •Write athletic related stories for alumni publications and newsletters. (i.e., season wrap-ups, brief features, etc.) •Is responsible for the coordination of Webcast/Broadcast of sport events. •Assume the responsibility of creating sport specific promotion plans in conjunction with each of the specific coaches. (i.e., alumni cookouts prior to games, community nights, promotionals and give-aways, etc.) •Oversee the athletic web page and creating a system in which it is updated on a daily basis. •Oversee the archiving of statistical material and sports related information. (i.e., individual team records, All-America selections, school records, etc.) •Organize and oversee activities of statistical personnel necessary at each home athletic contest where appropriate. Assigning of score keepers, clock keepers, and PA announcers Personally provide statistical services •Is responsible for all sports communications and the operation of the public address system at all sporting events. (i.e., National Anthem, announcements, etc.) •Publish and make available game roster at each home athletic contest where appropriate. •Serve as liaison between Reinhardt University and the NAIA. •Assume full responsibility for publishing promotional material and media guides. •Reports scores and relevant information on Reinhardt University sports contests to various media channels. •Develop a work schedule (office hours) that makes him/her accessible to the media and other schools. •Collateral responsibilities: Acceptance of services on University committees. Attendance at convocations, graduations, etc., if at all possible. Attendance at other campus functions such as plays, dinners, music recitals, etc., when at all possible.
