Alvernia University, located in Reading, Pennsylvania, is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach. This is a part-time position that includes a stipend and the potential for on-campus housing.
The Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in managing all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Program including, but not limited to, recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes and preparing student-athletes for success through practice planning, strategy development, skill instruction, and video analysis.
Assistant Coach will work with the Head Coach in tracking their student-athlete’s academic progress, maintaining appropriate records and paperwork, and ensuring compliance with all university, Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), and NCAA policies, rules, and regulations. This position will also carry additional administrative duties appropriate to the successful candidate’s education and experience.
Bachelor’s degree and successful experience as a player and coach is required.
The successful candidate will display a record of accomplishment “on the field” as well as “off the field” having served as a mentor and coach to successful student-athletes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate and be able to communicate a commitment to the mission and core values and goals of Alvernia University. Strong organizational, supervisory, and team-building capabilities are required.
