The position is directly responsible for all aspects of the women’s tennis program in accordance with NCAA, Big Sky Conference, and California State University, Sacramento rules and regulations.
Duties include, but are not limited to: coaching, recruiting, scheduling, program development, student-athlete academic monitoring, budget management, fund raising, public relations and promotions.
The recruitment of student-athletes who can succeed both academically and athletically in accordance with University goals, NCAA and conference regulations is the direct responsibility of the head coach.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited -institution of higher education;
Experience coaching tennis at the collegiate level;
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations;
Experience in managing budgets;
Proven ability to establish good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, administrators, faculty, staff and the community.
A master’s degree;
Successful head coaching experience in women’s tennis at the NCAA Division I or NCAA Division II level;
Demonstrated success in recruiting student-athletes capable of achieving academic and athletic success at the NCAA Division I level;
Experience or knowledge of recruiting in California and/or the Sacramento area;
Successful experience generating external funds;
Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to multi-task and be resourceful and flexible;
Evidence of a strong commitment to student-athlete welfare and diversity
