Ave Maria University is seeking applications for a full-time employee to serve in the position of Sports Information Director. The employee will assist in all aspects of the sports information operation, including producing content for athletic publications, managing the department's social media presence, and ensuring the implementation of all gameday needs. He or she will also serve as the primary media contact for a number of the University's 19 varsity sports, based on the candidate's knowledge and experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in all aspects of communications for each of AMU Athletics 21 varsity sports.
Serve as the primary media contact for assigned sports providing statistics, website/social media coverage and maintenance, gameday event management, conference/national reporting, photo archival and the handling of all other media/communication requests internally and externally.
Contribute to social media strategy through management of the athletic department’s official accounts by carrying out publicity on these platforms and participating in content planning and execution.
Manage, set up and supervise web broadcasts of various athletic events. Maintain and develop various aspects of the Ave Maria Athletics website. Assist with production/design of record books, recruiting/marketing materials and social media content in various formats (video, info graphics, etc.) Distribution of announcements to various media platforms. Maintenance of historical and statistical files. Interacting with member school administrators and coaches’ groups. Projects as assigned by members of the athletic administration. Night and weekend hours required.

EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working in a collegiate athletic communications office.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Organization, time management and ability to work independently are critical to being successful in this role. Previous experience with Stat Crew, Presto or NCAA Genius statistical inputting as well as Adobe Creative Suite and video editing is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who hold previous experience in these areas. Please provide any supportive job samples as attachments during the application process.

PHYSICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be physically capable of performing athletic tasks related to college athletics with the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 – 70 pounds. Requires visual acuity to use a computer, as well as other digital tools, and auditory skills to speak with and listen to various different campus and community groups.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to work most nights, weekends and some holidays. Travel may be required on an as needed basis related to competition schedules.
