Job Statement: Lead and develop recreational programming to provide an outstanding experience for current & future membership.
Reporting Structure: Will report directly to Club Technical Director and will sit as a non-voting member of the recreational committee.
Areas of Responsibility:
Administration: Manage registration system for all recreational programing Evaluate and set recreational format each season Form teams, recruit & assign coaches and set schedules Liaise with other associations for inter-league programming Fall/Spring Jamboree planning and execution Liaise with the volunteer Recreational Committee
On Field Coaching & Education: Organize and run nightly skills and team training sessions Parent education and training Conflict resolution Game day oversight & troubleshooting Formulation of a recreational curriculum and methodology Oversee Munchkin, U5 & U6 recreational programing
Special Projects: Devise and execute a plan to increase recreational participation Oversee Schools Program Coordination of satellite recreational programming Competitive player identification Recreational > Competitive “Bridge” Sessions Other projects as determined by Technical Director
- Minimum USSF D license. C or higher preferred. - Undergraduate degree in sports management/administration preferred - At least 5 years of coaching experience - Extremely effective communication and organizational skills - Knowledge of social media platforms and IT literacy - Experience of organizing/developing youth sports programing a major plus - Must be US Citizen or permanent resident - Must be willing to work nights and weekends during the season in addition to regular office hours
This is an entry level leadership position with considerable room to grow for a candidate that has a passion for recreational programing. There will be no competitive coaching attached to the position, so candidates wishing to coach competitive players/teams need not apply.
