Florida State University is seeking Assistant Directors of Compliance (HR Job Title: Athletics Coordinator) to handle specific aspects of the daily operations of the athletics compliance office. More specifically the positions will assist staff members in understanding and adhering to rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the University, the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) through monitoring, auditing, and rules education. One position will be responsible for NCAA Bylaw 13 and the other position will be responsible for portions of Bylaw 14 relating to initial and transfer eligibility. Each position will also have compliance sport liaison assignments and responsibilities.
The key position responsibilities include the following: -Interpret and communicate application of institutional, NCAA, and ACC rules and procedures for internal and external constituents; -Investigate and report NCAA infractions; research and draft NCAA waivers; -Monitor and audit compliance correspondence, records and forms; -Prepare and maintain compliance records and reports; -Execute policies and procedures consistent with University, conference and NCAA regulations; -Provide game day support for sporting events; and -Complete other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and at least one year of full-time experience or a combination of post high school education and compliance experience equal to five years required.
Experience working in athletics compliance at either a D1 institution, Power 5 conference office, or the NCAA.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a strong attention to detail.
Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required.
Master's Degree or Juris Doctorate Preferred
Posses organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects/events to meet deadlines.
Experience using various computer programs (i.e. LSDBi, Compliance Assistant, AMA Online, JumpForward, Teamworks, Microsoft Excel).
