Job Description: Newberry College is looking to fill the position of Women’s Volleyball Assistant Coach. The position is responsible for assisting the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach for the Women’s Volleyball program for Newberry College. The position will report to the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach and will be responsible for assisting in coaching, recruiting and recruiting travel, awarding athletic grants, scheduling, team travel and managing the intercollegiate program within the policies of Newberry College, the South Atlantic Conference, and the NCAA Division II. The Women’s Volleyball program at Newberry College has had success on the regional level in the NCAA Division II and is looking for an experienced candidate for this newly created position that will build upon the foundation in place.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree and one to three years of experience. The ideal candidate must also have a strong commitment to the NCAA Division II Strategic Plan, a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, an ability to support the goals and mission of a private Lutheran college, an ability and desire to support college functions. The candidate must have a positive attitude, must be a person of good integrity, must be a good communicator, must be knowledgeable and organized, must be a leader, must be fiscally responsible, must contribute to the overall development of the student-athlete academically, athletically, socially, and spiritually. Preferred Skills / Education: A master’s degree. Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience including effective leadership, communication, coaching and recruiting skills is preferred. Strong computer and technological skills. Video editing experience. Experience with the philosophies of the NCAA Division II Model is preferred.
