Army West Point Athletic Association is currently seeking an Assistant Coach for the Men’s Golf program who is responsible for supporting the Head Coach by coaching Cadet-Athletes, recruiting, monitoring Cadet-Athletes academic progress, scheduling, managing travel, and overseeing the discipline and conduct of the Cadet-Athletes. This position reports to the Head Men’s Golf Coach. All the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of USMA, AWPAA, Patriot League and the NCAA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coaching: Assists the Head Coach with the ongoing teaching and instruction of Cadet-Athletes in the performance of their sport such as, but not limited to, meets, practices, individual and team workouts, and conditioning sessions. Develop, recommend, and teach strategy. Ensures that team travel arrangements are in compliance with USMA, Patriot League and NCAA rules and regulations, to include monitoring development of travel itineraries and coordination of travel plans.
Recruiting: Oversees recruitment and selection of Cadet-Athletes, ensures compliance with NCAA recruiting rules and regulations, and initiates process for determining academic eligibility. Recruit quality prospective Cadet-Athletes and ensure timely submission of their academic records for admissions.
Academics: Provide an overall positive educational environment for Cadet-Athletes conducive to learning, athletic development, social growth, and preparing them for life beyond college.
Camps & Clinics: Participates in camps, clinics, exhibitions, and campus activities as approved by compliance.
Administrative: Assist the Head Coach in the administration of the entire sport program, including, but not limited to daily practices, event planning and implementation, recruiting, equipment management, facilities scheduling, and budget.
Engagement: Perform both direct and indirect public relations functions including promotion, fund raising, public speaking, community events, and through camps and/or clinics. Serve on departmental committees as requested.

Bachelor's Degree required.
1-3 years of collegiate coaching experience.
Skill in operation of modern office machines, communication tools, equipment, computers, and relevant software.
Experience with golf instruction using today’s latest technology (i.e. Trackman, SAM Putt Lab, Flightscope, etc.)
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in diverse settings, both on campus and in the community.
Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills both orally and written.
Ability to communicate through and produce content on Social Media Platforms.
Ability to commit to the highest ethical standards.
Ability to participate in evening and weekend commitments, as necessary.
Valid driver's license is required.
Perform duties in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment that may require medium lifting at times. Exposure to weather elements during outdoor events.
