The University of Texas at Tyler has an immediate opening for a Graduate Assistant position assisting with Athletics Facilities and Operations for the UT Tyler athletic department. Duties include assisting with all aspects of athletics communications, digital media, marketing and brand enhancement. The University of Texas at Tyler, Department of Athletics, is seeking applications for Athletics Facilities and Operations Graduate Assistant beginning August 1st of 2021. This is a part-time position that reports to the Assistant AD for Compliance. Applicants must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of UT Tyler, the Lone Star Conference and the NCAA.
This position includes a tuition waiver for up to nine hours per semester and a $1,000 monthly stipend. The candidate must have an undergraduate degree and be admitted to a UT Tyler graduate program. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are customary for this position but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs. •Serve as game day administrator for home games •Serve as primary contact for visiting teams •Manage aspects of game day set up •Manage all aspects of ticket operations •Manage all aspects of concessions stand sales •Manage task worker schedule and assist in training/supervising. •Assist the Marketing Department with the planning, coordinating, and implementation of the marketing strategies for ticket sales, special promotions, and partnerships. •Assist management with ideas and implement them to generate ticket sales revenues. All other tasks as assigned by the Assistant AD for Compliance.

The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education, preferably in Sport Management or related field One year of experience in a college or university athletics department
Strong technical, organizational, multi-tasking and interpersonal skills and creativity required as well as the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and willingness to be a team player.
Proactive and detail oriented with strong follow-up skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong knowledge of social media means and effective uses
Ability to be flexible with work hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
High energy level and positive attitude.
