The Department of Recreational Sports & Athletic Facilities is looking for a motivated, energetic person to join our staff! This position blends the best of game-day operations for NCAA Division III athletics and campus recreation operations. Summary: Provides evening supervision from 2pm-10pm Tuesday through Saturday for the daily operation and game-day management of the Sports and Recreation Center and Athletic Facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the supervision, planning and management of the day-to-day operation of the Sports and Recreation Center and Athletic Fields. Demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork, customer service, ethical leadership and talent development for student staff members. This position of trust will contribute to the department’s mission, vision and values. Ensure cleanliness, appearance, safety and maintenance of the Sports and Recreation Center and Athletic Fields. Cultivate an inclusive, safe and diverse environment for staff and guests; address patron behavior, concerns and conduct issues as necessary. Works with the Coordinator of Recreational Sports and Athletic Facilities to ensure proper use and allocation of space resources; provides on-site supervision and event management of necessary events. Oversees Sports and Recreation Center event set-ups and tear downs. Recruit, hire, train, supervise and evaluate the student Event Staff and Summer Staff. Works collaboratively with necessary personnel to establish, maintain and update Emergency Action Plans for Sports and Recreation Center facilities and satellite facilities. Develop, plan and coordinate informal recreation and special events such as Rec Day and Rec Fest. Assist with development and revision of training methods for staff, including employee handbooks and in-service trainings. Be proficient in and assist with developing new and revising current policies/procedures, programs and management methods. Collaborate within department and across campus to offer recreation opportunities and activities. Assist in the ordering, inventory, inspection and maintenance of facility equipment. Research and benchmark trends and opportunities for growth. Coordinate marketing efforts and strategic outreach to inform campus community of events in the Sports and Recreation Center and Athletic Fields such as the Stall Street Journal and campus fliers. Assists with locker room toiletry service, locker room reservations and notification of locker room availability. Participate in institute wide committees to contribute to the advancement of the institute’s mission. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position would oversee the student Event Staff and Summer Staff.

1-3 years working experience in a recreation or athletic field required
CPR/First Aid/AED certification required
