This position is offered by and reports to the Faculty Student Association of Westchester Community College and is subject to the terms agreed upon in the FSA Employee Handbook.
Mission of the Athletics Department
The mission of the Athletic Department is to serve the needs of our Student-Athletes by providing quality athletic programs that promotes the athletic development and retention of athletes. The department is also committed to supporting academics and complying with the academic standards of national and regional athletic associations.
Bachelors of Science degree from CAATE Accredited institution – required BOC Certified Athletic Trainer – required New York State certified Athletic Trainer (NYSED – Office of the Professions) – required Personal professional liability insurance – preferred Candidate must be passionate about the field of athletic training at a collegiate level. Must be energetic, organized, self-starter, with strong communication skills. The successful candidate shall be a person of integrity with high ethical standards, and exhibit a strict allegiance to the college, athletic department and NJCAA rules and regulations, as well as a commitment to student achievement in the classroom.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate should have previous experience at the High School, NJCAA, NCAA or NAIA level or higher. They must also possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, communicate effectively (verbal and written), have the ability to multi-task and operate within an extremely motivated, team-oriented atmosphere.

SALARY & BENEFITS: Commensurate with experience for 35-50 hours per week depending on schedule and game coverage needed. Final salary figure pending FSA approval and subject to change to fit job category requirements. Competitive deferred compensation package, medical, dental and optical benefits.

Under the supervision of the Team Physician, and reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Athletic Trainer is responsible for leading, administering and managing all aspects of sports medicine, practices and game coverage for our athletic program.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Practice coverage for all team sports when applicable Home game coverage for all team sport events Serve as liaison between WCC student-athletes/staff and team physician Assess injuries and ailments of student-athletes and determine proper treatment strategies Maintain student-athlete medical records Assist with insurance claims when necessary Maintain Athletic Training Room and inventory of related equipment and supplies Other duties as assigned
