The Program Coordinator is responsible for the marketing, promotion and managing social media platforms for all program divisions of the Parks and Recreation Department. The incumbent works closely with the Department Director with coordinating community engagement.
Marketing/Promotion– serves as the Department lead with all marketing and promotion efforts including the quarterly Activity Guide, weekly newsletter and monthly activity reports; creates marketing campaigns, manages all social media platforms; creates promotional materials for all divisions within the Department; ensure compliance with the City’s adopted Brand and Editorial Style Guide for all publicity materials; serves as the Department liaison between the city’s MOD Department and local media outlets to coordinate all advertising and promotion efforts.
Community Engagement – plan, organize, facilitate, and coordinate community meetings, forums, and outreach efforts; support leadership team with revenue generation through solicitation of sponsorship and underwriting programs and events, develops and coordinates various fundraising campaigns; serves as the liaison between the Department and local agencies, organizations, and service providers.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
A minimum of (2) two years of progressively responsible experience in the development and coordination of programs, services, activities and events are required. Experience in recreation programs with the public is highly desirable.
A Bachelor's degree, preferably in recreation, or closely related field, is required.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES
Possession of and the ability to maintain a valid California Driver's License are required.
