Reporting to the Head Swimming and Diving Coach. Specific duties include: designing and structuring workouts; instructing divers on proper technique and racing strategies; attending all practice times; communicating with all staff and coaches professionally; coaching and instructing Divers at meets throughout the year; entering Divers in meet events; recruiting; Getting CPO Certified; and performing other duties as assigned. It is expected that the successful candidate will abide by all written policies and procedures of, the Department of Athletics, UMBC, the America East Conference (AEC), USA Diving and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor’s degree. Five years of collegiate coaching / or elite USA Club Coaching experience required. Must have Red Cross certification at time of hire or be certified within six months of hire. Proven track record of working with high caliber divers is strongly desired.
Salary is $15,000.00
In addition to the salary, UMBC agrees to pay employee 60% of the net revenue (i.e., income less expenses and other business related deductions) derived from the Retriever Diving Club. This amount shall be calculated on a monthly basis by the Athletic Department and an accounting provided to the Aquatics Director and the Athletic Director.
