The Director of Event Operations reports directly to the Associate AD Director for Event Management, and has a significant role in the Athletic Department by coordinating external revenue-generating events held in university athletics facilities. Serving as department’s primary contact for non-NCAA related facility rentals, this position develops and maintains event rental policies/procedures as well as event rental fee structure, and revenue- generating opportunities. Events include but are not limited Concerts, Shows, University Commencements, High School Graduations, Sport Camps/Clinics, as well as any/all external revenue-generating facility rentals.
The Director of Events Operations will develop and maintain event rental policies/procedures as well as event rental fee structure and facilitates production of all non-athletic contests by coordinating with university staff and external community groups. The Director supervises and evaluates up to two full-time staff and works to recruit, hire, schedule, and train assigned student staff. The Director and reporting staff are also responsible for all event-related sets-ups and venue changeovers that support the Athletic Department, and work closely with the facilities department to ensure event availability, coordination of the master calendar, as well as venue preparations to facilitate external events, and camps/clinics. This position also prepares and submits time records for assigned staff per established policies and procedures. The position assists with special projects within Event Management and Facility Operations including assisting with planning, supervising, and staging major athletic events and ancillary special events held within Arkansas athletics facilities as requested by supervisor and/or Sr. Associate Athletic Director.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
At least five years full-time progressive work experience in duties relevant to the position
Must be available to work nights and weekends as needed for ticket initiatives and/or other events
Master’s Degree in Sports Management or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
At least five years of experience within a college or professional public assembly facility setting
Experience in managing concerts and large shows/events
Experience in managing and supervising full-time and student staffs
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge and experience in booking/scheduling multiple public assembly facilities
Knowledge and experience with A/V, Scoreboards, Sounds Systems, ticket scanners, magnetometers, wireless technology, concert staging, and equipment
Strong organizational, time management, and customer service skills
Ability to interpret, develop and maintain operational, and equipment budgets
Ability to analyze financial records and prepare reports
Ability to propose, schedule, and execute large scale revenue-generating events
