The University of Dayton, a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference and Pioneer Football League is seeking applicants to fill the position of Intern Wide Receiver Football Coach. This assistant coach will support the head coach in organization, planning and directing all aspects of our Division I football program. The assistant coach will primarily instruct, train and coach student-athletes about the sport, the collegiate game and skills required in team and individual environments, and instruct student athletes for purposes of academic, social development, compliance requirements, and safety and health considerations. The assistant coach will assist in recruiting quality student-athletes and will assist the head coach in leadership, including on matters such as team composition, competition strategies and development of the passing game and peak performance. The assistant coach will perform additional duties related to coaching (e.g., compliance education, budget management, fund raising/donor relations, equipment procurement, and other duties as assigned by head coach). UD Athletics employees are expected to comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations governing the University, the NCAA, the Atlantic 10 Conference and the Pioneer Football League. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate expertise in all aspects of coaching student-athletes and a commitment to the highest ideals of leadership, sportsmanship and academics. The UD Athletics Internship program is designed to expose the highly motivated individual to all aspects of a Division I athletic program. Strong performers have the opportunity to be considered for permanent positions within the division if and when they become available. This is a one-year internship with an optional renewal(s). This internship may require some evening and weekend work. This is a full time, 9.5 month position with benefits. Salary is commensurate with qualifications. Required: Bachelor's Degree, Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience at the wide receiver position and valid driver's license maintains a low risk record and is able to be certified by the university.
Preferred: Good organizational, interpersonal and basic computer skills, Experienced in working collegiate sports camps, Experienced in video editing, experienced in strength training.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
