Denison University Director of Athletic Communications

Denison is seeking a Director of Athletic Communications to provide experienced professional leadership in Athletic Communications for the promotion of 26 intercollegiate sports. This individual must have demonstrated success in the management of an Athletic Communications department and provide top-notch marketing and promotion of high achieving varsity sports across campus, within the local community, and nationally through multiple methods. Management and coordination of all operations related to Athletic Communications including but not limited to media relations, forward thinking creative solutions, and collaboration with University Communications. Must have a commitment to equity and inclusion in all facets of the job.
Minimum requirements include: Bachelor's Degree. Minimum of five years of related experience in higher education, intercollegiate athletics. Must possess a growth mindset with elite interpersonal skills. Demonstrated grace under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines while working hours that include nights and weekends. Must have initiative and foresight on all new digital media avenues, statistical programs and best practices throughout social media and digital networks. Exceptional interpersonal skills and experience building relationships with key constituents in a broad range of industries/fields. Strong strategic and project management skills. Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to produce and present polished media materials to a variety of constituents including alumni, prospective student-athletes, parents, and students.
