Goucher College seeks qualified applicants for the full-time, position of strength and conditioning coach. Goucher College fields 21 intercollegiate teams competing in the NCAA Division III as a part of the Landmark Conference.
The strength and conditioning coach will be responsible for designing and implementing sports-specific strength and conditioning programs for all intercollegiate athletic teams with a focus in enhancing performance and injury prevention. The coach will assist in the supervision of the weight room and cardio fitness center, including staffing, training, and supervising student-workers. The incumbent will also develop and implement programming focused on student-athlete psycho-social and emotional wellness, Title IX, and diversity and inclusion and support campus initiatives surrounding diversity, inclusion, and wellness.
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree; certification by one of the NCAA recognized strength and conditioning organizations (NCSA-CSCS or CSCCa-SCCC); and First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications. An understanding of and commitment to the values and philosophy of Division III are also required. The candidate must possess the ability to effectively communicate and work well with student-athletes, coaches, staff and the community. Evening and weekend availability is required.
Preferences: Master's degree and previous collegiate strength and conditioning experience.
