Nyack College - a NCAA Division II institution located in Jersey City, NJ - member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). Nyack College is looking to hire a motivated individual for our Sports Information Department for the 2021-22 academic year, beginning in July 2021, renewable for a second term the following academic year. The successful candidate must have a dedicated life of faith as a Christian, with the expectations of working in a Christian school environment, as well as a strong work ethic, enthusiasm and the goal of working in athletic communications or a related field in the long term.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Assist the Sports Information Director with all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Sports Information Department. This includes, but is not limited to:
Production of multimedia/video content and written content for the website and social media
Day-to-day operations of all Nyack College Warriors main social channels
Production and design of all graphics, marketing materials, schedule posters, senior tributes, official game programs, other promotional materials and much more.
Photography and videography.
Production of all Warrior Network broadcasts for Nyack College home athletic events.
Statistical coverage for Nyack College home athletic events.
Serve as the primary contact for select sports
Update athletics website by maintaining statistics and historical information for archives, posting team rosters, schedules, as well as coach and player bios.
Writing press releases, game recaps, and other stories that will be published on the athletics website
Supervision of athletic communications student staffers, interns, volunteers and more.
Other duties as assigned.
Undergraduate degree in communications, journalism, sport management or related field.
Acceptance into a Nyack College graduate program and maintenance of a 3.0 GPA.
Expertise in Microsoft Office.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
A working knowledge of AP Style sports writing.
Experience with various social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook).
Strong organizational and time management skills.
A working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.)
Experience with statistical programs (NCAA Live Stats, PrestoStats, StatCrew)
Experience with collegiate athletic website services (SIDEARM Sports, Presto, etc.)
Experience in game day management for intercollegiate athletics
Prior experience working in a college athletics department
