This position reports to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development and the Director of Athletics. It also works with the Senior Associate Athletic Director and the North Dakota State University Foundation in directing and coordinating activities related to fund-raising for Intercollegiate Athletics.
Manage a major gift portfolio as it relates to identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts, both current and deferred, to support the Intercollegiate Athletic Department. Additionally, position has a role in soliciting leadership annual gifts through the Team Makers fund.
Engage alumni and friends to determine their philanthropic interests, with an immediate focus on Intercollegiate Athletics’ fundraising goals.
Collaborate with Senior Associate Athletic Director to develop an annual gift solicitation plan including: goals, quantifiable objectives, and strategies for achievement.
The successful candidate must be highly self- motivated, creative, thrive under pressure, be team-member orientated and believe in the mission of North Dakota State Athletics.
This position will be expected to travel both locally and nationally; and regular attendance at evening and weekend athletic activities and donor events.

Three years fundraising and/or sales experience.
Ability to execute face-to-face solicitations in support of the organization’s mission.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively to multiple audiences.
Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with administrators, coaches, staff, students, and the public.
Willingness and ability to make “cold calls” and to cultivate relationships with and solicit individuals and corporations.
Ability to develop cultivation and solicitation strategies and ensure follow-up activities and stewardship with donor prospects.
Five years of major gift fundraising in a higher education athletics setting.
A successful track record of soliciting, securing and closing philanthropic gifts.
Experience with Raiser’s Edge or comparable donor tracking system.
