This position will assist with the implementation and oversight of the compliance programs within the athletic department. Position will also coordinate communication between departments relative to the academic progress of student-athletes while identifying resources to assist our student-athletes. These responsibilities are performed in an ethical manner consistent with the University’s mission, vision, and values which include diversity, equity and inclusion.
Counsel and instruct student-athletes and staff on pertinent rules to their programs, to ensure full comprehension and understanding by department members.
Assist in collection and review of student-athletes forms pertaining to meeting NCAA and University compliance standards
Assist with the development and delivery of compliance education for student-athletes and staff.
Represent the Athletics department by participating or chairing committees as needed.
Communicate and monitor the policies and procedures, monitor ongoing activity, direct and recommend action to correct deficiencies and prepare various reports.
Assist in providing written and oral guidance and assistance to the university administration, coaches, staff, and student athletes.
Assist with the monitoring of student-athlete financial aid eligibility.
Represent the University at conference meetings concerning institutional compliance.
Participate in community service projects as a representative of the university/athletic department.
Represent the university at selected events to assist with monitoring of compliance and game management activities.
Works closely with the Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance on academic, eligibility and compliance issues.
Assist student-athletes in obtaining and utilizing campus resources.
Communicate with student services regarding student-athletes at risk and identify resources to assist.
Assist with coordinating student-athlete tutoring services and study tables.
Serve as liaison between campus life for the monitoring of return to play protocol for student-athletes.
Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated within athletics or other role specific regulations.
Provides GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.
Demonstrate and promote the University Cultural Values.
Perform other duties as assigned.
