This position is responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy of programs and efforts to solicit and schedule external events in the new football stadium and other Athletics facilities, particularly in premium spaces. Position is responsible for generating a minimum of $300,000 annually in revenue support for the Department from such events. Position is also responsible for overseeing the overall management of the event including supervising an events coordinator.
Required Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, communications, marketing, management, liberal arts, sociology, tourism or any other field related to duties and responsibilities • Three years of full-time progressive, results-oriented professional experience in sales/fundraising/marketing or related work experience • Demonstrated skill in developing and achieving revenue goals • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with internal and external constituencies • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and oral/written/electronic communication skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and follow-through skills • Proven ability as self-starter and problem solver • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines • Ability to effectively network and market the stadium property • Ability to prepare and present weekly/monthly sales reports • Proficiency with technology and social media to enhance efficiency • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays • Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date
Preferred Job Qualifications
•Three years of event management experience; Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) certification preferred
