The University of Oklahoma Department of Athletics, a Division I and Big 12 Conference institution, is seeking an assistant coach for the women’s soccer program. The OU Athletics Department promotes excellence in athletics without compromising excellence in academics or integrity in its commitment to rules or conduct. Student-athletes are encouraged by the coaching and administrative staffs to maintain a balance among athletics, academics and the social aspects of college.
The assistant coach reports to the head coach and assists in all aspects of the soccer program with specific duties focusing on the personal, academic and athletic development of the student-athletes.
Additional responsibilities will include recruiting and talent identification, video analysis, unit/line/phase-of-play coaching, scouting, set-piece preparation and camps, as well as developing, motivating and evaluating academically and athletically qualified student-athletes in compliance with NCAA, Big 12 and University of Oklahoma policies and procedures. Other specific responsibilities include ensuring compliance with appropriate administrative processes pertaining but not limited to team travel, scheduling, new student-athlete enrollment, equipment, recruiting and talent identification, travel, camps, budget, student-athlete eligibility and academic progress. The assistant coach will also participate in appropriate fundraising and community service efforts as assigned and will coordinate with the OU Athletics Communications staff to provide pertinent information to media outlets and in preparing content for the official athletics site and social media.
This position will be filled based upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience.
Requirement of a Bachelor's degree or higher plus 1-2 years of related experience. Recent Division 1 coaching and/or National team/ professional playing experience, minimum of a USSFC license/ or equivalent.
This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
