This individual will have oversight of monitoring student-athlete scholarship and rules and regulations surrounding athletics financial aid. The individual will have assist the Associate AD for Compliance in overseeing and maintaining over $16,000,000 in student-athlete scholarships and primary oversight of over $300,000 in Student-Athlete Assistance fund monies. Individual will serve as a primary liaison with the University’s Financial Aid office within the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA) working to accomplish the following; Individual will implement aid renewals and cancellations; coordinate and monitor with OAFA the athletics aid certification process for all student athletes; prepare budget projections; monitor compliance with NCAA, University and federal financial aid guidelines; compile information for and complete NCAA squad lists for all sports; check over 475 individual student athletes’ financial aid packages for compliance with University and NCAA regulations; make adjustments where appropriate through PeopleSoft, work with OAFA to adjust where appropriate; analyze students’ accounts; Individual will also oversee the summer athletic aid process in accordance with Athletics Department policy as well as work with OAFA in processing athletics aid for the summer. Individual has oversight of student-athlete housing and is the primary contact with campus housing, Panther Central. The individual will be responsible for bed space and utilize with the campus affiliated Bridge on Forbes apartment complex and will need to coordinate with sport programs and Panther Central for all needs in the Bridge on Forbes. The individual will be responsible for coordinating meal plan selection for all scholarship student-athletes with the student-athlete, sport programs and the department’s sports dieticians. Individual is responsible for compiling information for and preparing financial aid reports requested by the NCAA and ACC; compose Educational Expense Report for the academic year; manage George I. Carson Graduate Fellowship, Fifth Year Aid and Panther Game Plan Degree Completion Program; As needed the individual will counsel students and parents with regards to their student account and financial aid; Educate coaches and staff on University, NCAA and ACC financial aid rules and regulations. The individual will have oversight of student-athlete workers within the Compliance Office participating in the Carson and Fifth-Year Aid student work programs. Other duties as assigned by the Associate AD for Compliance as well as the Director of Athletics.
Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree/JD Preferred. At least three years of full-time experience working in an NCAA Division I athletics compliance office or related area is required. Experience in NCAA financial aid and housing rules and concepts highly preferred. Superior organizational, writing and communication skills and the ability to prioritize and coordinate several complex duties.
