Ottawa University, Kansas (NAIA) currently seeks qualified candidates to fill its open Graduate Assistant position for Athletic Administration.
The selected candidates will be granted tuition waiver (18 credit hours per year) for one of Ottawa University’s graduate programs, a partial meal allowance and a bi-weekly living stipend (renewable for a second year as qualified).
Applicant must be a self-starter, possess excellent time management skills and be committed to working nights and weekends. The ability to demonstrate a passion for a career in the field, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills is critical.
The successful candidate will give primary focus to game day operations in support of all 33 intercollegiate athletic programs, but will assist in various aspects of athletic department operations as needs arise and are assigned including in the areas of sports information, marketing and communications. Significant leadership and involvement with OU’s SALT Team (Student Athlete Leadership Team) will be an additional part of this position. A high level of collaborative teamwork and interpersonal interaction throughout the athletic department and across campus is required. Providing supervision and leadership to student workers is also a key aspect of the position.
A valid and current driver’s license and driving record which meets institutional requirements is required. An earned Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and the ability to obtain admission into an Ottawa University graduate program is required (minimum undergraduate degree GPA of 3.0 is required, as well as other acceptance criteria). International students must also be able to secure an F1 student visa and meet the international admissions criteria for acceptance into the Ottawa University MBA program.
