Position Details: Mayville State University is seeking applicants to join our campus community as Assistant Softball Coach/Admissions Recruiter. This position reports jointly to the Head Softball Coach and Director of Admissions and serves in a dual role of both Assistant Softball Coach (50%) and Admissions Recruiter (50%).
As Assistant Softball Coach, this position will work to help recruit and retain student-athletes. Work side by side with the head coach both on and off the field.
As Admissions Recruiter, the purpose of this position is to serve prospective students, parents, staff, faculty and others with information about the institution and its services. This position serves as a representative for functions related to the recruitment of students, including but not limited to recruitment, application processing, prospective student relations, and other functions of the recruitment and enrollment process.
Required Competencies: Effective communication skills Ability to effectively recruit and retain high quality student-athletes Highly effective communication and public speaking/presentation skills. Effective planning, organizational and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and within a team. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree Prior playing and/or coaching experience Ability to work evenings, weekends and fulfill travel requirements. A valid Driver's License is required.
Preferred qualifications: Experience coaching college softball Experience in an enrollment management setting (admissions, financial aid, academic records, etc.) Experience working with Peoplesoft, ConnectND, or Hobson’s/CRM platforms.
