About the Role:
Are you a creative, talented individual with a passion for video, photography, graphic design, and social media who is interested in building the creative strategy for an NCAA Division III athletic department? When you work at St. Olaf, you will help tell the stories of student-athletes while assisting in creating a transformative student-athlete experience. The right person will enhance the Ole Athletics brand in a creative manner on a variety of platforms.
This is an entry-level, administrative, two-year internship which is grant-funded. Funding for this position is based upon NCAA resources dedicated to ethnic minorities and women.
What You’ll Do:
-Serve as the primary graphic designer for St. Olaf Athletics, creating a variety of materials ranging from pre/post-game graphics, to award graphics, to game programs.
-Shape the creative and digital strategies of the department in a strategic manner through a combination of new media strategies and conventional coverage.
-Manage the video and photography needs of the department by producing, shooting, and editing video content and photos in a variety of settings (game coverage, features, highlight packages, etc.).
-Assist with other areas in the sports information department and athletic department as a whole, including updating the St. Olaf Athletics website, writing releases, and working with SAAC, Ole Leadership Academy, and Oles Against Inequality.
Qualified applicants will have…
Bachelor’s degree, maintain a valid driver’s license and meet St. Olaf College drive authorization criteria with a satisfactory driving record
Experience in college athletics as a student-athlete, student coach, student employee in athletics or sports information
Experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro and Illustrator
A helpful background includes…
Experience using other Adobe Creative Suite programs such as After Effects and Lightroom
Familiarity with SIDEARM Sports web platform
A demonstrated ability to produce creative materials in the collegiate athletics landscape
