Frostburg State University Athletics Department is seeking a full-time Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach to be responsible for the overall success, performance, and conduct of the FSU Bobcat men’s and women’s swimming program. This is a 12-month appointment and includes University System of Maryland benefits package.
FSU boasts 22 varsity sports (10 men/12 women). Swimming started in the 1979-80 season and has totaled 13 All-Americans. Since making the Division 2 transition the men and women have combined to win 10 meets. The Bobcats have earned 13 MEC First Team All-Conference awards. Frostburg men and women finished fifth and seventh respectively in the 2021 GMAC/MEC Championships.
Responsibilities: Administer the men’s and women’s swimming program in accordance with NCAA regulations and University policy. Recruit, retain, and graduate academically successful student-athletes. Supervise a contractual assistant coach. Promote the men’s and women’s swimming program through public relations activities, alumni, and friends of swimming relationships. Other related duties as assigned. This position will have a second duty to be determined by the Athletics Director based on the selected individual’s qualifications. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to overall departmental philosophy and collaboration.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. At least 2 years of coaching experience at the high school and/or collegiate level. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Proven ability to recruit student-athletes.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. Experience at the collegiate level.
Other: Any combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and progressively responsible related work experience may be considered.
