The University of West Georgia Head Volleyball Coach leads all aspects of the competitive Women’s Volleyball program at the Division II level in the Gulf South Conference. The Head Coach provides support to the student-athlete both academically and athletically and is expected to represent UWG in a professional manner that aligns with the University of West Georgia strategy & culture.
This position is designated as a Clery Act Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs are obligated to report all Clery Act qualifying crimes which occur on campus, in public areas bordering campus and in certain non-campus buildings owned or controlled (leased) by the University to the proper channels. Complete annual mandatory training. CSAs who deliberately fail to report crimes may be subject to appropriate discipline, including being barred from holding any CSA position in the future.
Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree is required
Required Experience At least three years of coaching experience.
Preferred Educational Qualifications Master's Degree in an associated field;
Must be energetic, professional and committed to improving the UWG Volleyball program. Ability to promote a positive environment that allows the student-athletes to succeed academically, athletically and in the community. Knowledge of rules and skills of volleyball. Ability to instruct student-athletes in skills and safety. Ability to recruit talented student-athletes. Experience and/or ability to fundraise and experience with managing Volleyball camps to generate revenue for the Volleyball program. Knowledge of NCAA and Gulf South Conference rules and procedures.
