The Oberlin College Department of Athletics and Physical Education invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach of Men’s and Women’s Swimming. This is a full-time, 12-month Administrative and Professional Staff position, reporting to the Director of Athletics and Physical Education and working with the Head Coach of Men’s and Women’s Swimming.
This position will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach of Men’s and Women’s Swimming in all aspects of coaching, recruiting, organizing arrangements for home/away competitions; securing travel arrangements for the team; and participating in the arrangement of team and fundraising activities administering within the swimming program. The incumbent will also have secondary department and physical education administrative responsibilities including scheduling pool rentals, supervising the lifeguard staff, and lifeguard staff payroll.
Bachelor’s degree required; two years of coaching and/or relevant competitive experience; strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills; ability to recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes; organize official visits including assigning hosts, and create itineraries while adhering to all NCAA Division III regulations. Current certification as an American Red Cross (or equivalent) Lifeguard Training Instructor is highly recommended as well as knowledge of Hy-Tek Meet and Team Manager Software.
