The University of Hartford, A NCAA Division I Institution located in West Hartford, CT, is seeking a Graduate Assistant for its Softball team as well as its Track program. The successful candidate will assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the program and will work with event areas best fit based on experience, needs of the program, and expertise.
This 10-month position will provide a tuition waiver that covers base tuition for graduate school (24 credit hours per year). Tuition does not cover room/board, fees, or the cost of books.
Position may include a stipend.
GA Responsibilities: • Assist in daily coaching, planning practices and meet preparation. • Participate in recruiting. • Assist in academic mentoring of student-athletes. • Represent the program and the University, both internally and externally. • Assist in travel preparation and record keeping. • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and expectations: • Admittance into a University of Hartford graduate program (a $300 deposit fee will be required upon acceptance into a graduate program). • Must have the ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends and some holidays. • To maintain this appointment, you must continue to meet the academic standards established for Graduate Assistants by the University and remain in good standing in the graduate programs. • Your appointment may be renewed on performance. You must remain within good standing with the University of Hartford and the graduate program to continue receiving an appointment.
