Executive, Executive - Associate Athletics Director

AWPAA seeks an Associate Athletics Director that serves as a member of the AWPAA executive staff that is committed to excellence and advancing the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics through its strategic plan and vision.
This position will oversee daily operations in the areas of Sports Administration (overseeing 8-12 sport programs) as well as supporting cadet-athlete welfare and development initiatives and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts across the department for Staff and cadet-athletes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities of this Position:
-Assist the Executive Associate Athletics Director with the coordination of the Sport Administration team. This position will have sport oversight responsibilities and duties for selected Varsity Sport Teams. Including but not limited to traveling with team, attending practices, establishing meetings with Coaching Staffs, and building rapport with Officer Representatives.
-Manage recruiting efforts across all sports (partnering with Football recruiting staff and Strategic Communication staff). This will include enhancing efficiencies by establishing recruiting tools across sports, developing a repository for recruiting materials, formulate best practices, and organize and execute annual Recruiting Summit for Army West Point Coaching Staffs.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:
-Actively pursue areas for improvement, programs to support, and ways to provide, opportunities for cadets of underrepresented races, religions, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
-Create unique and innovative solutions and outlets for staff and cadets to explore their race within the parameters of the US Army and USMA regulations.
-Communication and Collaboration with the Director of AWPAA Human Resources
Cadet-Athlete Welfare & Development:
-Take lead on Sexual Harassment and Response Programming (SHARP) efforts for AWPAA as it relates to larger Academy initiatives.
-Assist with USMA Character Integration programming and efforts specific to intercollegiate athletics.
-Support and work closely with the Team Captains/Student-athlete Advisory Committee.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience required. Master's Degree preferred
Eight (8) years’ experience working full-time at a NCAA institution, professional sports organization, and/or other elite sporting institutions (e.g. USOC, etc.). Experience in leadership, decision-making, management, and supervision.
Ability to work effectively with a variety of people including various stakeholders of the program and institution.
Must have exceptional skill to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Demonstrate good judgment and the ability to respond quickly and deal successfully under pressure and in a very open and public environment. Leads by example with high personal expectations, character, and appropriate advocacy for the department.
Demonstrate ability to plan, organize and prioritize assignments and work independently to complete assignments despite various deadlines, competing requirements and changing priorities.
