The Athletics Department at Pratt Institute is seeking a full-time Head Coach Men's Basketball/Recruiting Coordinator who will be responsible for the organization and administration of all aspects of the men's basketball program including staff supervision, teaching and implementing skills and strategy, recruiting, budget development, scheduling, and implementation of NCAA, conference and institutional policy and regulations. This position also acts as the recruiting coordinator and will be responsible for coordinating athletic department recruiting and outreach events, maintaining department recruiting databases, and assists other coaches in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes to Pratt Institute.

Pratt Institute has an athletics history dating back to the founding of the institution. Currently, Pratt is a member of the NCAA Division III and Coast to Coast Athletic Conference (C2C). The department of athletics and recreation is searching for a highly motivated, student-focused men's basketball coach to assist in the growth of the department and athletic programs.
Head Men's Basketball Coach Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct the men's basketball program by coordinating and completing the following: recruitment and retention of student-athletes, practice sessions, practice and game scheduling, contest preparation, contest management, and administrative duties
Collaborate with athletic training staff for documentation and appropriate care of injuries
Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations of the NCAA, conference and Pratt Institute
Develop specific duties for the assistant coach that aid in the overall success of the program, ensure that they adhere to their established performance program, and evaluate their performance at the conclusion of the season or year
Consult and assist the Director of Athletics and Recreation in department and team fundraising activities
Maintain equipment throughout the year and inventory equipment at the end of the season
Maintain applicable health and safety certifications (i.e. CPR, AED, first aid)
Serve as facility and event supervisor, as necessary
Recruiting CoordinatorDuties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for coordination and development of athletic special events including but not limited to Student-Athlete Orientation, Accepted Students Day, Orientation Week, student involvement events, Junior Day, and Commencement
Determines the effectiveness and success of current recruiting plans and strategies
Creates evaluation tools for recruiting experiences
Provides data to coaches and sport administrators for follow-up for evaluation feedback
Developing a strong relationship with working external departments
Provides lead on-site support for on-campus recruiting functions
Ability to develop communication and marketing strategies, digital components, and effective social media use to enhance recruiting outlook and brand awareness
Stays abreast of all pertinent NCAA Division III legislation pertaining to Bylaw 13 with the help of the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance
Assists with the onboarding of new coaching hires
Coordinates professional development for coaches and staff.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field, Master's Degree preferred.
Experience: Two years of college-level coaching experience.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Must demonstrate integrity and the ability to inspire students and athletes to perform at a high level.
Demonstrated understanding of an academically rigorous institution, particularly the demands of art and design programs.
Self-Starter with a vision and sense of creativity to develop a recruiting system and program philosophy that delivers athletic excellence and efficiency at Pratt Institute.
Ability to work well in a diverse environment.
License: Valid NYS Driver's License.
