Men's Wrestling Head Coach

The selected candidate will ensure the team operates and conducts themselves within the ideals, goals, rules and regulations set forth by University of Jamestown, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). The successful candidate will embrace and promote the mission of the University of Jamestown.

This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics. The successful candidate provides leadership, organization, supervision, instruction, and strategic planning for the Jimmie men’s wrestling team. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

Fostering an atmosphere promoting academic success and personal development

Meeting recruiting and retention goals

Establishing an effective communication plan with student-athletes

Planning a competitive schedule

Conducting practices in a safe environment

Organizing home events

Effectively managing the budget

Fundraising for additional program needs

Providing safe and efficient travel to competitions

Implementing an effective community service plan

Promoting the men’s wrestling program in the community

Ordering equipment to serve the needs of the program

Maintaining an accurate inventory of uniforms and equipment

The position will also be responsible for other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. This is a 10-month, full-time staff position.
