Director of Gymnastics

Responsibilities

Management

• Create and manage all gymnastics classes, programs and schedules.
• Develop a strategic business plan with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Controller. Implement, analyze and adjust to meet or exceed the plan.
• Prepare monthly reports for internal meeting as directed by Chelsea Piers executive leadership team.
• Prepare reports for weekly executive meetings.
• Maintain active partnership with Positive Coaching Alliance.
• Develop and maintain annual budget guidelines in conjunction with the strategic plan including payroll and employee benefits.
• Manage and accurately complete all gymnastics payroll needs.
  Oversee operations of the Gymnastics Teams (Boys, Girls and Xcel).
• Serve as main point of contact to gymnastics parents and customers.

Staff Development

• Conduct annual performance reviews with all department staff members.
• Recruit, interview, and hire staff.
• Assist registration manager to set up all camps/classes in registration system.
• Create staff workshops and maintain staff certifications.
• Make sure the Gymnastics Department upholds all SafeSport guidelines.

Operations

• Supply Marketing Team with pertinent department information in club newsletter and website; serve as Gymnastics Department external point of contact.
• Oversee billing process for gymnastics teams.
• Provide sales training to staff to ensure correct information is shared with patrons regarding the gymnastics program.
• Develop quality assurance and quality control plan for all gymnastics equipment.
• Maintain an up-to-date parent handbook.
• Ensure class/camp information is accurate on website, in brochures and in registration system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 10+ years of experience, with significant management experience.
• Must have completed all USA Gymnastics Safety Certifications or be willing to complete upon hire.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and make critical decisions.
• Personal experience in youth sports / team sports preferred.
• Knowledge of and enthusiasm for gymnastics is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
