Applications are currently being accepted for a Graduate Assistant position at Berry College for Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving. Located midway between Atlanta, Ga., and Chattanooga, Tenn., on a 27,000-acre campus just north of Rome, Ga., Berry College is an independent, coeducational, liberal arts college with approximately 2000 undergraduate and graduate students. Berry challenges students to embrace a firsthand educational experience that complements challenging academic programs with opportunities for meaningful student work experiences, spiritual and moral growth, and significant service to others. The Graduate Assistant position is a two-year commitment that will assist the Head Swimming and Diving Coach with the duties associated with the Men’s and Women’s intercollegiate Swimming and Diving programs. The successful candidate will possess a passion for coaching swimming. Dry-land and weight training supervision, recruiting, office hours and organizational skills, on deck coaching & competent computer and internet skills; such as Word, Excel, Team and Meet Manager and CTS 6 operation, are required. Berry College Athletic programs are full active members of the NCAA Division III as well as a part of the Southern Athletic Association Conference (SAA). As such Berry is committed to the basic philosophy of the Division III component of the NCAA and places priority on the overall quality of the educational experience and on the successful completion of all students' academic programs. We also seek to establish and maintain an environment in which a student athlete's athletic activities are conducted as an integral part of the student athlete's educational experience. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting with day to day operations of the teams, practice and meet preparation, meet duties, NCAA compliance, public relations, student work supervision, recruitment of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes, and a commitment to the student-athlete’s academic progress and degree completion. Collegiate Swimming and/or coaching experience are required. This position provides a full graduate tuition waiver in Masters of Business Administration program and a $ 9000.00 stipend each Academic year.
