The overall goal of the graduate assistantship program is to gain knowledge and experience through opportunities so that upon graduation, an individual is ready to move into a full-time position within the field of collegiate athletics administration.

The USC Upstate Athletics graduate assistantship program is the result of a unique partnership between USC Upstate Athletics and the USC Columbia Master of Science in Sport and Entertainment Management (MSEM) program. All USC Upstate graduate assistants must be accepted into the top rated MSEM program at USC Columbia and will attend the majority of their classes in a virtual format. Graduate Assistant for Athletic Development & Administration This position supports the athletic director and the general operations of the department of athletics, with a focus on fundraising and external engagement of alumni, supporters, and fans. This position reports jointly to the Athletics Director and Associate Athletics Director for Development. Click here to see the Position Description. Graduate assistant positions include an $800 monthly stipend, plus an out-of-state tuition waiver, if applicable. The student is responsible for in state tuition.
