Head Coach, Women's Volleyball

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience: Professional experience coaching athletes and leading a Volleyball sports program is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the sport program and the ability to teach technical aspects of the sport. Knowledge of NCAA, ACC and University rules and regulations , with the ability to interpret and correctly apply. Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills in the development of a highly competitive Division I sports program. Ability to manage and develop assistant coaches, support staff, volunteers and student-athletes. Knowledge of athletic recruitment/retention methods and techniques with the ability to manage these program aspects. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the press and a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Knowledge of budget preparation and fiscal management. Ability to establish, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and sound judgments. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Strong organizational skills and the ability to oversee the effective maintenance of files pertaining to recruiting, compliance, team travel and budgetary expenditures.

Licensure: A valid driver’s license is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Sport Administration, or a related field.  

Experience: 4+ years of professional coaching experience preferred. Experience coaching at a Division I institution or professional level also preferred.
