Primary Purpose of Position: The Alumni and Annual Fund Coordinator supports the efforts for the University’s alumni programs that promote meaningful volunteerism and personal/professional development that lead to loyalty, dedication, and philanthropic support for University of North Carolina Pembroke. The Coordinator provides essential work and support in the purposeful communication with, and solicitation of, all alumni via the annual appeal giving programs. Job Description: The Alumni and Annual Fund Coordinator's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: - Assist in the scheduling and execution of the annual calendar of fundraising appeals for the University - Hire, train, and supervise a group of student worker phonathon callers during the University's annual fundraising phone program - Create basic data reports and conduct analysis to support new donor acquisition and optimize donor retention - Prepare compelling copy for written appeals, including fundraising letters, emails, and social media - Assist in the planning, staffing, and implementation of special/hospitality events around alumni programming, including regional events, alumni board meetings, and Homecoming. - Assist in creation of member retention strategy - Personally cultivate and solicit a select group of annual fund donors identified as leadership annual giving prospects -Support the stewardship function of the Advancement office by collaborating with the Advancement Services division for the timely, accurate accounting of gifts, and adopt a personalized stewardship approach - Other duties as specified by Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Fund The Alumni and Annual Fund Coordinator position requires a Bachelor's degree and related experience in an area such as alumni relations, development, fundraising, prospect research, business development, or communications. Occasional weekend and evening work required as it relates to Alumni and Annual Fund functions centered around events or phonathon.
