As our Athletic Director, you will be responsible for the daily management and long-term planning for the University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. The Athletic Director reports to the Chancellor; the latter reporting line will oversee day-to-day management, supervision, and strategic planning. UAF has nine Division II men's and women's sports: Men's and Women's Basketball, Men's and Women's Cross Country Running, Men's and Women's Nordic Skiing, Men's and Women's Rifle, Women's Swimming and Women's Volleyball. UAF Men's Ice Hockey team competes at the Division I level. JOB DUTIES: Reporting to the Chancellor, the Athletic Director is the chief administrator for the University’s intercollegiate athletics program that supports the individual educational goals and well-being of student-athletes. The Athletic Director is responsible for the overall management of the intercollegiate athletics program, establishing and adhering to policies, procedures, and guidelines in compliance with the policies, procedures, and guidelines of Federal Law, the University, respective leagues/conferences in which athletic teams compete, and the NCAA.

Demonstrated experience in donor development and fundraising. Demonstrated revenue-generating sport experience. Demonstrated strategic planning and implementation experience. Demonstrated experience and expertise in public relations. Demonstrated experience and expertise in public/community relations. Demonstrated experience and expertise in strategic and business planning. Demonstrated experience and expertise in diversity, inclusion, gender equity and Title IX. Demonstrated experience in league negotiation, divisional change status, and change in conference affiliation. REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING: Master’s degree in relevant field and six years progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of training, skillset, and experience. Preferred experience working in a multidivisional athletic department and significant fundraising experience.
