The Graduate Assistant /Intern for Athletic Training will report to the Head Athletic Trainer and assist in all phases of Athletic Training. Graduate assistant positions are for 2 years, renewable after the first year based on a yearly evaluation. Internship positions are for one year. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing comprehensive health care to University of West Florida student-athletes. This will include practices, home and away event coverage, supervision of student athletic trainers, athletic training room coverage during operation hours, and administrative duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer. The candidate will act as an ACI for a CAATE athletic training education program and may also have the opportunity to teach classes within the program for additional money. The graduate assistantships will receive full tuition, fees, and a financial package (includes matriculation waiver and out of state tuition where applicable). Graduate assistants must maintain a 3.0 GPA throughout assistantship to maintain the financial package. Graduate assistants will have the opportunity to earn their Masters of Science Degree in their choice. Please refer to www.uwf.edu for more information on graduate studies. Interns will receive approximately $10,000. NATA dues paid by the Department.
