Head Women’s Volleyball Coach

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

• Maintain an acceptable roster of student athletes on the team
• Administer all areas of practice activities, including but not limited to strength, conditioning and skill training
• Plan and implement all scouting and recruiting activities of qualified players
• Player Wellness: Promote positive team culture that manifests itself on and off the court
• Foster academic success through discipline and accountability
• Hire and oversee assistant coach(es) and/or graduate assistants as needed
• Plan and manage all team travel
• Organize and assist with fundraising efforts
• Comply with NCAA regulations
• Serve as Coach for each contest representing the college in a professional manner
• Evening and weekend hours and overnight travel are required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

• Work cooperatively and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with those inside and outside of the athletic department
• Operate well in a busy environment where multiple activities may be occurring at one time
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken
• Create and control the team budget in a fiscally responsible manner
• Understand of NCAA regulations, laws that apply to intercollegiate athletics and familiarity with Title IX regulations
• Understanding of and implementation of strategies to attract student athletes
• Be in agreement with the Crown College Statement of Faith and Community Covenant
• The successful candidate must also pass the NCAA certification examination on an annual basis and adhere to all rules and regulations of Crown College, the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and the NCAA III.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3 – 5 years Experience as a head coach or substantial experience as an assistant coach

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to the above minimum qualifications):

• Master’s degree
• Recruiting experience at the NCAA Division III level
• Coaching experience at a faith based college or university
